Resilient Sound Isolation Clips*20 pieces minimum for shipping |
The RSIC-1 Resilient Isolation Clip stops the noise and vibrations that typically would be allowed to transfer throughout the structure. Designed for use with various framing designs and applications, the RSIC-1 decouples the Gypsum Board from the framing in the wall and floor-ceiling assemblies. Acoustically tested, the RSIC-1 adds 15 to 20 STC and IIC pts to your existing assembly, reducing the noise transfer by 75 to 100%. When designed correctly into the wall or ceiling, there can be a substantial cost saving for the project. The RSIC-1 is designed for use with any wood framed, steel-framed, CMU, or concrete wall, and ceiling system where noise control is needed. The RSIC-1 assembly decouples and isolates the gypsum board or plywood from the structure, increasing the system’s acoustic performance. With an acoustical design load rating of 36 lbs per isolator, the RSIC-1 can support up to two layers of 5/8″ gypsum board when spaced at 24″ x 48″ OC. For heavier systems, increase the number of isolators to support the system’s additional weight. The RSIC-1 clip fastens directly to the framing or structure. The cavity between the face of the framing and the back of the gypsum board is 1-5/8″. The RSIC-1 systems have several UL fire-resistant design assemblies from one to four hours.
